I haven’t quite finished this yet but I have loved every story within these pages. This is Volume 38 or Writers of the Future. These stories are from new writers that I can’t wait to hear more from. It contains 25 authors and illustrators. The illustrations that I have seen thus far have been outstanding. The illustrations fit the story and are so well do they will be professional illustrators in no time.

These are science fiction and fantasy stories which I have always been a fan of. There are titles like The Squid is My Brother and Agatha’s Monster. Both of these stories are amazing. The Squid is My Brother is about a child that comes to earth and has a Symbiote attached to his back which helps him to deal with Earth’s atmosphere. The other children think it is a squid.

Agatha’s Monster is about a girl who lives with her family that hunts monsters. Agatha’s secret is that she is keeping a monster in her room. The monster appeared when her twin brother died and she feels it’s the only thing she has left of him.

5 Things I’m Greatful For

Today’s post will be short and sweet because I’m still sick with COVID.

1. I’m thankful that this COVID is mild compared to the other variants because I don’t think I would have survived any of the others. This one has been bad, but could have been much worse.

2. I’m thankful for the home that my Dad made sure we had after his passing last year.

3. I’m thankful for this lifestyle that we have chosen to live because it helps us to be better people and to be able to help others sometimes.

4. I’m thankful for the opportunity to raise these animals and give them the best life possible.

5. I’m thankful for our neighbors that have helped us so much on this journey.

Blood Pressure Monitor

This one seems to be one of the better monitor’s available right now. I really like that this one speaks to you too!



This monitor has a large face on it so it is really easy to read. This is a great feature for people such as my father who is having difficulty reading smaller print now. The large numbers on this make it really easy to see so even he can see what it says without a problem.



This monitor also talks to you. It tells you exactly what your blood pressure and your pulse are. So even if the large print wasn’t enough, it tells you what it says too. And it’s loud. It’s easy to hear what the machine is saying. You don’t have to be really close to it either.



I like that this tests the blood pressure on the arm rather than the wrist. I would think since the doctors use this type of monitor it would be more accurate. I don’t know for sure this is true, but it just makes a little sense to me so. I like this feature of this monitor.

KN95 Mask

With the pandemic right now, it is recommended that we wear a mask when we go out. So I got this one to try out. 



I had to go to the bank the other day so I was able to use this for that. I have to say that I really dislike wearing a mask so I usually don’t go anywhere but this time I had to. I am very claustrophobic so for me it is very difficult to wear a mask. The paper masks that are more rectangle in shape I have a very hard time with.



This mask is actually very comfortable. It sits naturally the way it’s supposed to, under the chin and over the nose. There is a metal peice on the nose that you can shape to fit you properly. The ear holds are soft so they didn’t hurt my ears at all and I wore it for about an hour and half. I was able to breathe pretty easy with this one. My claustrophobia didn’t really come up much with this mask like it does with the other ones.



So I guess, for a mask, this one works really well and was comfortable to wear so I would recommend this to others.

Air Purifier Review

During this time with the pandemic running rampant, an air purifier may be something that could help keep the virus out of your home.


This air purifier says that it works better than the HEPA air purifiers. I can’t say that this is true or not, but it does clear the stuffiness and odor out of a room. This purifier is small too. It plugs into the wall and does its job from there.


It also has a USB cord that you can use to power it if you don’t want to block an outlet on your wall because this will block the entire outlet. I really couldn’t hear it while it was running either so I would say it’s pretty quiet. 


The picture above shows what it comes with, the unit, the USB cord, and the instructions. Like I said this unit is pretty small for an air purifier, but it seems to work fairly well. I have an incubator in my room that can smell pretty decent after a couple weeks of use. This unit keeps that odor away which is great.

I have been looking for a new set of ear buds for a while now. My daughter stole the last pair I got so I will be guarding this one with my life..lol. I love to listen to music but haven”t had the ability for a while now because I haven”t had a speaker or ear buds.

I have to say that I really didn”t think that I would like this because there is only 1 ear bud, but I have to say that I actually do like it because I can still hear what”s going on around me. This is also a downside to this product. It doesn”t block out everything because it”s only 1 ear bud. However, I have noticed that people are no longer having to come up and tap me on the shoulder to get my attention any more.
