Oh my gosh! I am so proud of my husband! He started this garden and has been working it every day to make it what it is today. Every time he harvests something, he plants something else to take it’s place. It’s not working out exactly how we planned, but it’s working. I think it has provided more food for the animals than it has for us, but that’s ok too because that cuts down on the food bill.
We have gotten more squash and zucchini than we know what to do with! Much of this has been going to the animals. We will usually put it in the fridge so that it’s a bit of cold treat for animals in the middle of the day and they seem to love it!
Above is the entire garden with Hubby next to it for size reference. It’s huge! And he claims he can’t grow a thing. I think he just never tried before now because he is doing an amazing job with this. He has planted buckwheat and wheat and sunflowers to name just a few. The sunflowers have produced amazingly. He planted black oil sunflower seeds specifically for the animals and they have been going crazy over it. The chickens are loving them too!
I am just so thrilled that he has made this happen. It would be nice if we could get a little bit for us too though. Well the beans are growing well too so that will help. Does anyone know if you have to cook beans before you can them or is it better to just store them dry?
Have a great day!
Renee
As always I'm so curious that I can't wait to see the final result as it will be!
